Checking out the firetrucks

For a week or so, we've noticed the big CHILI SUPPER, SATURDAY 4:30 - 7:30 sign outside the fire station down the street from us. We figured we had to check it out, because Will is really into fire trucks.

This is the Sam Bass Fire Department, aluding to Round Rock's facination with Sam Bass, the train robber who was gunned down in Round Rock in 1878. Anyway, it was fun to look at the engines up close, ask a few questions, and let Will poke around. Then we went in and had some chili. We ate in the big garage part of the station, and Will just thought that was great: "We're eating in the FIRE STATION!" He kept saying over and over.

Hi Billy!
Great site and photos. Good to see that you and the family are all doing great. Firetrucks have always been fun. During the National Night Out, we always have a firetruck in the neighborhood and the kids love it.

All my best to you, Mary, and Will.
